Co bedding of Twins: A Natural Extension of the Socialization Process

Co bedding is a newly recognized developmental care practice that could help twins adjust to the extra uterine environment by allowing them to co regulate their body temperatures, sleep/wake cycles, and state-regulation, and self-soothe as well as soothe each other.

Reduction of Vertebral Subluxation using Torque Release Technique with Changes in Fertility: Two Case Reports

Although chiropractic care is not a treatment for infertility, it is postulated that improvement of spinal neural integrity through specific chiropractic adjustments may have contributed to improved homeostasis and physiological adaptation thus allowing the body to express a greater level of health as an outcome. Various effects via the reduction of the vertebral subluxation complex are postulated.

Inhaled Drug Doesn't Help Sick Babies' Breathing

Giving infants with infection-related breathing problems a dose of inhaled epinephrine appears to offer no help in speeding their recovery. In a large study comparing the benefits of inhaled epinephrine to an inhaled placebo drug, Wainwright and her team found that the airway opener did nothing to shorten the amount of time infants stayed in the hospital or to speed up their recovery.
Furthermore, infants who needed extra oxygen and intravenous fluids took longer to recover enough to be discharged if they received epinephrine than if they were given the placebo. "I believe infants with acute viral bronchiolitis should avoid nebulized epinephrine," she said.

Question of the week:

Frequently we get asked about recommendations for breastfeeding substitutes. Of course we acknowledge that breast is best, however there are some circumstances where mothers need to supplement- one being in adoption.
One of our members has searched for a natural formula and has come up with this website: baby organic.com They seem to have a great milk and soy based formula as an alternate to the commercial brands most mothers
know about. They do not, however offer a goat's milk-based formula.
We are looking for input on other alternatives to the commercial brands. please e-mail suggestions to info@icpa4kids.com

Exciting News!!

On behalf of our members, we have placed a half page ad in the upcoming issue of Mothering Magazine. We are very excited and know that this will bring even more traffic to our already well visited Membership Referral Directory

View our ad here.

Another alliance we have made with Mothering is that they will be offering our members a discount for subscriptions to their magazine. More on this coming in the next couple of weeks
