ACC-RAC 2005 is the ongoing collaboration between the Association of Chiropractic Colleges (ACC) meeting, which emphasizes educational structure, administration, and teaching, and the Research Agenda Conference (RAC), which focuses on the development of scientific knowledge, skills, and attitudes. The combination of the two programs continues to enhance and nurture the natural relationship between chiropractic scholarship and education.

Chiropractic News:

No more care for children:
The big news on e-mail this month was that BC/BS of MD is now refusing to cover care for children under the age of 12 calling it "experimental and investigational". Although one of our members was in touch with the higher ups at BC/BS and he specifically stated that this decision was not based on any contraindications found in the literature, he also stated that there was not yet enough research to substantiate care.
Dr. Matt Mc Coy has a summary of this BC/BS issue here:
https://www.jvsr.com/researchupdate/detail.asp?ID=894

This is the beginnings of what may very well become a national policy here in the states. The only solution here is Research to substantiate care for children. Dr. Alcantara, our Research Director is on this already, preparing a paper of rebuttal. Additionally, we are preparing to launch a study to substantiate the safety of care for children. To do this, we will need your help. We are preparing a Ped-Ex and a mailer to show how you can support the action we are prepared to take. In the meantime, any donations to carry out this task can be submitted here: https://secure.icpa4kids.com/research_form.html
