Professional Collaborations

The ICPA is always in touch with numerous organizations internationally on your behalf. We network and collaborate to expand the consciousness of family chiropractic care by attending conferences, writing articles and exchanging links.

In the past two weeks we have formed two alliances that we are excited to share with our members. We all know that the use of the internet for health resources is rapidly growing. Parents are looking up their concerns for their families and seeking providers that are respecting their rights to make informed health care choices.

Both of the following organizations are offering membership discounts for ICPA members and both have active referral directories as their membership benefits.

The first organization is American Pregnancy Association, a national health organization promoting reproductive and pregnancy wellness through education, research, and community awareness. http://www.americanpregnancy.org/

I already have a few articles on their site and will be adding additional ones in the next few weeks. This month alone they have had over 1,000 people read the “Chiropractic Care” article and over 2,000 individuals read the “Breech Presentation” article. They will be creating a “Next Steps” section in both of these articles and feature ICPA members who join the Association.

The annual organization membership is $40. For ICPA members (and if you join by March 31, 2006 membership fees are: $25. to join, please print out this form and send it off to them: APA Form. They are in the process of setting up their chiropractic referral directory and membership will not be charged until it is running.

I sent in my Ohm Chiropractic membership yesterday. This is another avenue for us to get the chiropractic wellness message out to women and their children.

The second organization is the Holistic Pediatric Association: http://www.hpakids.org/ a group of committed practitioners whose mission is to bring holistic pediatric care to the many parents seeking supportive, caring providers. This organization was co-founded by Dr Larry Palevsky one of our Certification instructors and has been affiliated with chiropractors on many levels for many years. Their Executive Director, Jane has written numerous articles for our newsletter and Pathways. I also serve on their advisory board and personally know their enthusiasm for the family wellness lifestyle.

The usual membership to HPA is $195 for licensed practitioners. For ICPA members this price is now $95. As I mentioned previously, they too have an active referral directory. I have been a member for a year and have gotten referrals from their site. You can join them here: http://www.hpakids.org/membershipICPA.htm.

This is another avenue for us to get the chiropractic message to parents. If you are working with holistic MDs in your communities—turn them on to the HPA as well. This is an organization we want to see grow and therefore influence the care families are receiving.
