ICPA PedEx 68 - Great Losses
Dr. Evangelo Van Fotinopoulos, board member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association passed away on May 12, 2006 in his home in Belle Mead, New Jersey. Dr.Van, as he was fondly called by his beloved family and friends, was one of those rare old-time family care-givers. He was present at births to adjust infants minutes after they were born, he was by the side of people of all ages to heal and comfort their traumas and celebrate their triumphs, and he was with the elderly to ease the pains of a long life.
Dr. Fotinopoulos earned his Doctor of Chiropractic from Sherman Chiropractic College in South Carolina in 1979. From 1980 to 1999, Dr. Van and his partner, Dr. Tad Reckord, developed one of the largest Chiropractic family wellness practices in Central Florida. There he coordinated an award winning scoliosis screening program with other chiropractors in the region. This enabled hundreds of thousands of students to be properly screened for scoliosis by doctors specializing in spinal care. In 1999, Dr.Van moved to New Jersey in order to support his wife, Susan, in her musical career, and there he set up the Family Chiropractic Health Center in Hillsborough.
Dr. Van was a long time supporter of the ICPA and was one of the first Doctors to be awarded his FICPA Certification in 1994. In 1999, Dr. Van was invited to participate on the ICPA Board of Directors. Additionally, he was one of the charter members of the Fellowship for the Advancement of Chiropractic, a large organization of chiropractors, students, and laypeople dedicated to spreading the message of wellness care throughout the world. Dr. Van was also certified in Chiropractic Scoliosis Care.
In all of Dr. Van's work as a healer, teacher, and friend, he brought his unfailingly positive attitude and love. Dr. Van made all who came in contact with him feel cherished and loved, and he will be forever missed.
Condolences to the family can be made online at docvan1@aol.com. There will be a memorial service held in July at Dr. Glen Gabai's home. Inquiries can be made via the same address.
In attempt to help Van's wife Susan with some of the logistics, we are sending out this information about his practice for sale. Please forward it to all of your potentially interested e-mail lists.
