Retained Primitive Reflexes and Learning Difficulties: on-going

Babies are born with brainstem-level (hence “Primitive”) reflexes to help support the birth process and survive their first few months outside the womb. These reflexes should disappear (integrate) into the developing nervous system during the first year of life, making way for postural reflexes and cognitive functions as the cortical brain develops. If the Primitive Reflexes don’t get integrated, they can interfere with each of the three sides of the Triad of Health. We find them in all of the autistic, ADHD and LD kids we work with at the Brain Performance Center . They can also re-emerge or be “Regained” following neurological, biochemical, emotional, or physical trauma. We see this consistently with adult PTSD, environmental illness, post-stroke, and traumatic brain injury patients. You can find more information on this at www.akcsm.com/RPR.htm

This one weekend seminar will teach you how to recognize and permanently treat RPR's with structural, neurological, and clinical nutrition tools. Co-sponsored through Logan College for 15 hours of re licensure CEUs, including 4 hours of technique, in several states. Classes are currently scheduled in Los Angeles, St Louis, and San Francisco. Registration form can be found at www.akcsm.com/RPR_registration_form.pdf.

Instructor: James P. Blumenthal, DC, CCN, DACBN of the Brain Performance Center can be reached at (310) 445-3350 by phone or email:drblu427@aol.com
