ICPA 360 Hour Diplomate Program Requirements: 2008-2009
The 360 Hour ICPA/ Diplomate program consists of:
Part One: the 180 Hour ICPA/ Certification Program
Part Two: 180 Hours of ICPA/ Advanced Clinical Competency Program
All applicants to the I.C.P.A. Diplomate Part Two must:

Be a practicing chiropractor, currently enrolled in or having completed the I. C.P.A. 180 Hour Certification Program (Part One)

Have current D.C. membership in the I. C.P.A.

Candidate Eligibility for Final Diplomate Status:

Complete all Diplomate Requirements. View here.

Register for annual Diplomate exam. This exam is written, administered and graded by representatives from the Academy of Chiropractic Family Practice, an independent academic board.

Membership in the Academy of Chiropractic Family Practice
-
Successful completion of the Final Diplomate Exam and all Diplomate requirements constitutes the award of Diplomate status from the Academy of Chiropractic Family Practice recognizing successful completion of the I.C.P.A. Diplomate Program.

The letters issued are: D.A.C.C.P. They stand for: Diplomate of the Academy Council of Chiropractic Pediatrics.
Maintenance of Achieved Diplomate Status:

Current membership to the Academy of Chiropractic Family Practice.

Continuing Education Credits of 12 hours selected from existing ICPA certification classes or from the Advanced Clinical Application Courses endorsed by the Academy. (First two years will be fulfilled at the Spring 2008 Extravaganza: 12 hours for attendance, 12 hours for poster presentation)
The Diplomate examination will be in March of 2009 in Philadelphia, weekend TBA.

Research Case Study: 60 Credit Hours
Registration and participation to the I. C.P.A. on-line Research Forum in preparation for the written Research Case Study paper with satisfactory completion of all Case Study requirements. The Diplomate Candidate will prepare a poster presentation of the Case Study for the I.C.P.A. annual conference. and particpate in two of the studies offered during that yer's time period.
48 credit hours for two or more projects
Registration, participation and completion of two Practiced Based Research Network Projects with the I.C.P.A and fulfillment of all requirements. The current PBRN's are:1- Safety of Chiropractic for Children. Study period:Data Collection is now closed.
2-Safety of Chiropractic Care in Pregnancy Study period: January 2008- June 2009
3- Additional studies will be announced via e-mail as they are approved.Advanced Clinical Application Electives: 48 Hours

***Any of the ICPA Certification modules may be considered as advanced electives. If the class is a refresher, 6 hours are credited. If the class is new, 12 hours are credited.
*** You may do additional PBRN projects to substitue for the advanced elective workshops. Each additional PBRN project counts towards 24 credit hours.

CPR/ First Aid Certification: 12 Credit Hours
Proof of Certification for Pediatric CPR and First Aid. This certification can be obtained by your local Red Cross. Copies need to be sent to the ICPA to obtain Diplomate credit. Please go to the following website for Red Cross to find your local chapter: www.redcross.org/where/chapts.asp Graduation: Graduation ceremony for the successful candidates of March Diplomate 2009 will be held in in conjunction with the I. C.P.A. Bi- Annual Extravaganza.

Diplomate Requirements Deadlines to Test in March 2009:

All Diplomate requirements (including final draft of case study Research paper to be submitted to the Diplomate online forum) by February 1, 2009.

Diplomate PBRN requirements due into the ICPA by January 1, 2009.

Be prepared to construct a poster presentation.
